The history of Islam in the Moogo passes through teaching, mosques, journeys and relationships between teachers and students. The museum distinguishes these religious networks from family relationships. A spiritual authority may be documented as a scholar, imam or teacher without that role proving family descent. Oral accounts are preserved with their consent and context. Documents, dates and places are linked to the propositions they illuminate. This approach leaves room for community voices while maintaining the difference between testimony and documentary proof.
